We ensure every hive has a healthy and productive queen, with plenty of workers, honey and pollen stores to ensure its continued health under normal conditions before we hand them over to you.
You’ll be able to open the hinged lid and peer through the clear observation panel to watch the workers busily construct egg cells, store pollen and nectar, adding jelly to the cells and the queen laying eggs.
Its a hugely fascinating and interesting process which you’ll be able to involve yourself in as much or as little as you like.
Hive Details
We have a variety of hive sizes and shapes available, including OATH, mini OATH and various sizes in between.
Our preference for both hobby and commercial application is the mini OATH, dimensions:
20cm wide x 20cm high x 20cm deep

The hive is encased in a weather resistant polystyrene cover, insulating the hive in winter and maintaining a cool temperature in summer
2 x internal splitter plates assist with evenly distributing the brood and resources with a clean split when ready. There is also a clear observation panel under a hinged lid so you can easily monitor the health of the bees inside.
A post mount is attached and included at the base of the hive to easily and securely attach to a star picket as shown.
